RACE DATE: Nov 25, 2018

 

RACE DISTANCES :

 

  • 42km Full marathon
  • 21km Half-marathon
  • 10km run
  • 5km fun run

 

Age limits:

 

  • 42km Marathon: Minimum 18 years old on the race day.
  • 21km Half Marathon: Minimum 18 years old on the race day.
  • 10km Run: Minimum 16 years old on the race day.
  • 05km Fun Run: Minimum 10 years old on the race day.

 

The Start/Finish Line

 

  • The Start/Finish Line:  Supply planning, Fair and Exhibition Quang Ninh Province, Tran Quoc Nghien, Hong Hai, Hon Gai, Halong city, Quang Ninh Province - Cung Quy hoạch Hội chợ và Triển lãm Quảng Ninh, next to the Museum and Library of Halong. The Start/Finish Line is at the center beachfront area allowing easy access from other tourist sites in the area.
  • You are required to be at Start Line 30 minutes before the Start of the races
  • We provide free transportations to the Start Line for runners who will stay in our official hotels in Halong. Details of transportation schedules will be announced to runners and on our website 10 days prior to the race.
  • You can take a taxi to Start Line if you stay at other hotels. Please ask your hotel reception for assistance. It takes about 20 minutes (around 8 to 10km) from Bai Chay to the Start Line at Hon Gai island.

 

Terms & Conditions:

 

  • You must read, understand, agree Terms & Conditions of Halong Bay Heritage Marathon upon register for the race. By taking the bib number, each runner accepts the Terms and Conditions of Participation

 

BIB numbers: 

 

  • All runners must wear the official BIB number that will be handed out before the race in the Race Kit.

 

  • The BIB number must be worn visible during the race on the front of your body

 

  • You cannot participate without BIB number

 

Kilometer signs:

 

  • Kilometer signs can be found along the entire route. Owing to the conditions, however, they may be placed with “+/- meters” from the exact point. The signs are therefore only for orientation and runners shouldn’t calculate speed based only on the signs.

Race officials and supporters:

 

  • English-speaking race officials, supporters from the Quang Ninh Department of Culture and Sport, Police Departments, other authorized departments and DHA Vietnam are in charge of the event with full support to the athletes.

 

  • Race security and health officials: Race officials from Hanoi Authority Departments (Security and Health) are in charge of the event and running course. All decisions made by the rangers, race officials and medical team are final. This also includes removing a participant from the race if needed due to security or health conditions.

 

Water and Refreshment Points (RP)

 

  • Every 3 to 4 km you can find listed facilities: first aid, refreshments (Water, Electrolytic drinks) and banana as below
  • Please throw your empty cup to the side of the street in order to not handicap your fellow runners.
  • Own Refreshment

 

    • Every athlete has the opportunity to position his/her own provision (energy gels, food, drinks, clothes, etc.)  throughout the course. Please clearly mark your bottle with the RP (Refreshment Points) number you want to put it and your bib number in order to find it easily. The Points where you can place your own refreshment are the following: RP 3 (KM 10.5), RP6 (KM 21)

 

    • You can only drop it off during race kit distribution

 

Time Chip Measurement:

 

  • The official time measurement is done by a professional timing agency Sportstats Asia.

 

  • You will receive the time chip to be placed at the back of your bib number. Please do not fold the bib number.

 

  • For a perfect and correct time measurement, you MUST pass all the mats at start, finish and check points on the course.

 

 

Race Result:

 

  • There will be live timing during the race.

 

  • The results will be posted immediately after the event.

 

Pacemaker:

 

  • If you wish to score a certain time, you can follow our pacemakers

 

  • How do you recognise them?
    • They wear big coloured balloons with the time print
    • T-Shirts with the time print

 

  • The times for the pacemakers are as follow:
    • 3:00 hrs.
    • 3:15 hrs.
    • 3:30 hrs.
    • 3:45 hrs.
    • 4:00 hrs.
    • 4:15 hrs.
    • 4:30 hrs.
    • 4:45 hrs.
    • 5:00 hrs.
    • 5:15 hrs.
    • 5:30 hrs.
    • 5:45 hrs.

 

Health:

 

  • The marathon runner participates on his own risk.

 

  • By taking the bib number, each runner accepts the Terms and Conditions of Participation

 

  • Furthermore he also declares that he did a health check carried out by a specialist at least 3 months before the race.

 

Bag Drop:

 

  • Open hours: from 5:00 Am to 12:30 PM

 

  • There will be Bag Drop at the starting venue. You can check-in your personal bag at Bag Drop Booth, however we highly recommend you leave all valuable items at your hotel.

 

  • Belongings on race day: Please leave all personal belongings in a bag or backpack. Please mark your personal belongings clearly with your name and BIB number! Do not place any valuables among the items you hand in on race day. Although the personal belongings are under staff surveillance, the Halong Bay Heritage Marathon organizer cannot be held responsible for any lost items and/or does not take any responsibility for stolen or damaged objects.

 

Runner’s briefing:

 

  • There will be a briefing before the race, which will take place in our official hotel in Halong in the afternoon of the day before the race day to provide runners all necessary and useful information for the race day.

 

  • The detail schedule will be announced to all runners 10 days prior the race day.

 

Photo Opportunities:

 

  • The Organizer will arrange professional photographers and video cameramen at some nice view locations of the running course and at the Finish Line.

 

  • All photos will be posted on our website for free in 10 days after the race. Please don’t forget to log on to our website and get photos of your unforgettable moment with Halong Bay Heritage Marathon!

 

Transportation:

If it is your first time here in Vietnam, or if you don’t know how to get to Halong, here are some basic tips that might be useful.

The Organizer is providing bus services from Hanoi to Halong on 24 November and back to Hanoi on 25 November after the race. Tickets cost US$ 8.80/trip. The bus schedule as below:

From Hanoi to Halong - Nov 24, 2017, pick up points at First floor, V+ Hoa Binh building, 505 Minh Khai, Vinh Tuy, Hai Ba Trung, Hanoi.

-  How to get to the Race Kit distribution and Start/FInish venue:

o   Venus address: Supply planning, Fair and Exhibition Quang Ninh Province, Tran Quoc Nghien, Hong Hai, Hon Gai, Halong city, Quang Ninh Province _ Cung Quy hoạch Hội chợ và Triển lãm Quảng Ninh

o   Public bus: You can use Phuc Xuyen public bus  No. 3, Hoanh Bo – Hon Gai route. Please ask the bus assistant to stop at “Halong specialized school _ Trường chuyên Hạ Long”. From there, it will be a 300-meter-walk to the Race Kit distribution and Start/Finish venue

o   We are providing free transportation for participants from our official hotels to Start/Finish venue. The shuttle bus schedule on Nov 25 is as below:

  • From Hotels to Start/Finish venue
  • 5:00 am – Halong Pearl; 5:45 am – Wyndham
  • 6:00 am – Halong Pearl; 6:15 am – Wyndham
  • 7:00 am – Halong Pearl; 7:15 am – Wyndham

Medals:
All runners who finish our race will be given achieved medals.

 

Visa to Vietnam and notice about accommodation from oversea runners to the Organizer

 

  • All oversea runners are responsible for their purpose of visiting Vietnam, including the participation in Halong Bay Heritage Marathon, during their visa application and immigration.

 

  • According to the Security Regulation and Policies from the Quang Ninh Authority for any International Events, you are required to share accommodation information during your stay in Halong with the Organizer. If you will not choose our official hotels, please inform us your hotel address by 3 weeks before the Race Day.

 

  • We disclaim all responsibilities if you deny providing us your hotel information in Halong.
