ThienCung Cave – Cave of Heavenly Palace.

ThienCung Cave is the most stunning primitive cave of the bay located in the Southwest of Ha Long bay. The cave is 10,000 square meters with sophisticated interior structure, many floor and high ceilings. After entering a narrow gate, one will be amazed at the cave’s splendid beauty with massive system of stalagmites and stalactites in various forms and shapes.

On the east wall of the grotto, an impressive and grandiose picture with characters coming from local legends or folk tales surely will delight and satisfy any traveler. Endowed by Mother Nature, ThienCung grotto gives off a feeling of an exotic, meticulous and fascinating fine-art museum that can stimulate one’s imagination.

Dau Go Cave – Wooden Head Cave.

Legend has it that Wooden Head was discovered by the local due to some wooden stakes flowing to this cave. These wooden stakes were hidden beneath the water and used as booby traps to fight against Mongol invasion in the 13th century in Bach Dang River.

Proudly listed in the world famous tourism book Merveille de Monde published in France in 1938, Wooden Head went under a different name “Grotte des marveilles” (Cave of Wonders). If you are keen on folklores, this cave is a place to be as its landscape is full of untold fairy tales.

Sung Sot Cave – Surprise Cave.

Living up to its name, the cave has not once failed to surprise its visitors for its magnificent and jaw-dropping stalagmites and stalactites. On the entrance, the cave might seem narrowed and minuscule, but with just a few steps a head, the cave turns gigantic with incredible rock formation.

The deeper into the cave you travelled, the more astonished you were by the surroundings. Those with imaginative mind may even find the ceiling look like they are decorated with gorgeous chandeliers and many interesting shaped rocks that can be seen as animals, tree and flowers.

There are 10 caves in total opened for visitors in Ha Long Bay with many other interesting sights Halong Bay Heritage Marathon 2016 will take place in this November.
