SEA Games Champion Triumphs at Halong Marathon 2024
This year’s marathon saw the participation of over 13,500 runners, including more than 1,300 international athletes from 55 countries.
The event served as the closing ceremony for the 24th AIMS World Congress, which was held in Vietnam for the first time. Notably, Francisco Paco Borao, the President of AIMS, along with other association members, participated in the race to experience the course firsthand.
Athletes competing in the event could use their results to qualify for the Abbott World Marathon Majors Age Group World Championships.
The race featured a strong lineup of professional runners, clubs, and running enthusiasts across four distances: marathon (42.195km), half marathon (21.097km), 10km, and 5km.

Speaking at the awards and closing ceremony, Paco Borao shared:
“This has been an absolutely fantastic experience for me. The breathtaking scenery, the running atmosphere, the weather, and the environment—everything was perfect for international runners coming here.
